Francis French is the Director of Education at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. He is the co-author of two award-winning space history books, "Into That Silent Sea," and "In the Shadow of the Moon." These books chronicle the first eight years of American and Russian manned spaceflight, focusing on the human stories of the earliest spacefarers.
