NASA and MyMoon have teamed up to blog about everything lunar. Art, literature, music, movies, science, and everything in between!
Hi! I'm Patricia Huynh, a curation disk specialist at NASA Johnson Space Center for the Lunar and Meteorite Education Sample Disk Program and now an ambassador for MyMoon!
I currently attend Houston Baptist University pursing my undergraduate degree in Business Management while working with all things moon for the past five years at NASA.
Before working at Johnson Space Center, I would not consider myself a science nerd or have an interest of the moon other than pointing out when a full moon would appear in the sky. When I applied for the high school internship program at NASA, I did not know my interest for science would soon change because of the people I encountered. Five years later, I am working in a building full of scientists that share their passion to all of those around them including me... a student pursing a business degree in a science world. I cannot help but be interested in learning the history of lunar exploration as I spend time organizing moon related events for educators and students and distributing our national treasures of lunar and meteorite disks to those interested in seeing samples from the Apollo missions. I continue to discover a different side of me that has a greater appreciation for the things beyond our Earth as I work and pay more attention to more than just the full moon in the sky, but don't get me wrong... I will always point it out to admire when I see one :)
All that aside, I love singing and working with children at Vietnamese Baptist Church as a volunteer. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and hope to capture your attention and interest of the moon through my blogs and tweets. Be sure to comment your thoughts before leaving :)
