So Much Going On - MyMoon

NASA and MyMoon have teamed up to blog about everything lunar. Art, literature, music, movies, science, and everything in between!

All quiet on the twitter front.

SO MUCH GOING ON

So things have been wacky for the MyMoon staff the past few weeks. Last week we spent our time at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference. What an awesome conference! LPSC is only the largest conference of its kind in the solar system. There's so much to learn. There is also the Hawaii party, but that's another story for another time.

The best part of the confernce was Tuesday night. Chuck, the MyMoon squirrel, made his debut at the Tuesday night poster session. He was a little put-off that the red carpet was not rolled out for him, but he got over it. For one hour, Chuck made the rounds interviewing various lunar scientists. Pics of the occasion can be found on the MyMoon Lunr site. It's rumored that Chuck hit on someone and was shot down. Hard. Keep watching the MyMoon YouTube channel as we plan to post some of these interviews in the near future.

On March 10th the MyMoon community had the opportunity to converse with Amanda Stiles from the Google Lunar X-Prize. Despite a small audio glitch, Amanda was a trooper and told us some good stuff about the Lunar X-Prize. There was also a not-so-small discussion on moonpies. Yeah... Our webcast on March 24th should also be a doozy. Dr. Neil Comins from the University of Maine will discuss what the Earth would be like if there was no Moon. I wonder. What if the Earth had two moons?

This weekend and next, some of the MyMoon staff, including Chuck, will be making a splash at SXSW in Austin, TX. We hope to learn more about the social media craze and how we can use it to reach those who have yet to discover MyMoon (poor souls). We also plan on getting some good video to add to MyMoon.

Finally, happy belated birthday to your pal and mine, Chuck Norris. Chuck turned 70 years-old on March 10th. 70! Can you believe that? And you wonder why he can't be killed by conventional weaponry. And yes, the MyMoon squirrel is named after Chuck Norris.
