NASA and MyMoon have teamed up to blog about everything lunar. Art, literature, music, movies, science, and everything in between!
When it comes to a solar eclipse, a lot of the talk tends to revolve around the Sun. But, one thing to remember is that the Moon is, literally, front-and-center during these events!
So, in honor of our friend the Moon showing the Sun who’s boss, here’s seven of the best photos of the solar eclipse that Australia, New Zealand, and others got to see yesterday:
Crescent Sun
Frontiers
Spark of a New World
Frame of Mind
Halo
Celestial
The Whole Nine Yards

Pretty astounding! What are some of your favorites?

I agree with William - I like 'Frame of Mind' but I also really like 'Spark of a new World.' Must be the optimist in me. :)
I'd also like to point out the lovely effect of the thin clouds in these images - definitely adds to the drama. One of the few times that astronomers would actually appreciate clouds!
Yeah, the spark of a new world captures my imagination the most :) In a '2001' kind of way
I'm fascinated by the Frontiers image. It makes me want to rent a boat and watch the birds soar over the waves as the eclipse sort of teeters in the distance.
