In 1966, British astronomers tracked a Soviet spacecraft on its way to the Moon. They "stole" the signals containing information that would be put together to create the first image of another planetary body, the Moon. The Institute's Dr. Paul Spudis gives us the rest of the story in Scooping the Soviets.
