NASA and MyMoon have teamed up to blog about everything lunar. Art, literature, music, movies, science, and everything in between!
The $30 million Google Lunar X PRIZE is an awesome competition for the first private enterprise to land a rover on the Moon (and complete a series of tasks).
With 25 teams, all ramping up the action, there’s a lot of news that comes every week!
So starting today, I’m going to round up the 5 best items from the GLXP each week. Between blogs, tweets, and videos, there’s a lot to choose from!
Here we go with our Google Lunar X PRIZE Roundup #1!:
1.) Astrobotic: Cave Crawler Video
First billing belongs to this atmospheric and awesome video from Astrobotic! Check out this test of a lunar Cave Crawler bot:
2). Omega Envoy: June Recap
Team Omega Envoy did a cool recap of a month in the life of space adventurers. See what a team goes through over a few weeks! And mad bonus points for the great Passion Pit song (“Take a Walk”):
3.) FREDNET At JPL
Team FREDNET attended a NASA Jet Propulsion Lab open house and interviewed a smart NASA guy about the GRAIL mission! Super HD video in the background + great interview = complete experience
4.) White Label Space: Hovering Rocket Test
White Label Space posted an update on the progress of their hovering rocket vehicle! Now that’s the future. Where’s our hoverboards?! :) http://www.googlelunarxprize.org/teams/white-label-space/blog/flying-soon-rocket-range-near-you
5.) Serious Space Loot!
The official GLXP blog posted a way to win a gigantic amount of space loot! Panoramas, hats, and a “Hell Yeah!”, oh my!
(My red “How to Win the GLXP” shirt is still one of my favorite possessions :D)
---
I’ll be posting these every weekend so you can get your fill of the best of the GLXP goodness :) If you have any suggestions for next week’s finalists...post ‘em in the comments! :) Follow the feeds for team blogs, team social, and team videos for the whole nine yards!
