"Honoring Neil" MyMoon Contest

Help us in honoring the life and legacy of Neil Armstrong, who passed away at the age of 82 on August 25, 2012 — as we approach the 40th Anniversary of the last footprints left on the Moon by Apollo 17 astronauts in December of 1972.

The inspiring words and actions of the legendary space pioneer will forever challenge us to continue to push our boundaries and blaze new trails of space exploration. We were wondering — What does Neil's legacy and impact mean to you? How has it touched your life?

Neil's family called him "a reluctant American hero" and issued the following statement after his death: "For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink."

Send us your tribute to Neil. Rules? All forms of tribute will be accepted, but we strongly encourage you to follow the suggestion of his family's statement — finding ways to honor his example of service, accomplishment, and modesty. Entries may be submitted via:
